Position: Staff Nurse

Summary:
The Staff Nurse with around five years of work experience plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within a hospital setting. This professional is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective healthcare services. The Staff Nurse collaborates with other healthcare professionals to promote positive patient outcomes and maintains a compassionate and supportive approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment and Care Planning:
Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify healthcare needs and develop comprehensive care plans.

Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.

Monitor and update care plans based on patient progress and changing conditions.

Medication Administration:
Administer medications accurately and in accordance with prescribed guidelines.

Monitor and record the effects of medications and report any adverse reactions promptly.

Educate patients and their families on medication regimens and potential side effects.

Clinical Procedures:
Perform various clinical procedures, such as wound care, IV therapy, and other nursing interventions.

Ensure adherence to infection control protocols during procedures and patient care activities.

Maintain proficiency in the use of medical equipment and technology.

Patient and Family Education:
Provide patient and family education on health promotion, disease prevention, and post-treatment care.

Answer questions, address concerns, and offer emotional support to patients and their families.

Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

Report significant changes in patient condition to the appropriate healthcare team members.

Document nursing care according to hospital and regulatory standards.

Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to promote a positive healthcare experience.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.

Professional Development:
Stay current with advancements in nursing practice and healthcare through continuous education and training.

Actively contribute to the professional growth of the nursing team and participate in relevant professional organizations.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.

Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant jurisdiction.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Demonstrated knowledge and skills in nursing practice, patient care, and healthcare protocols.

**Experience**:
Three to Five years of progressive experience as a Staff Nurse in a hospital setting.

Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
