Matte Painter

**DESCRIPTION**

Create photorealistic paintings and elements that match concept using 3D and 2D tools and techniques including camera setup, modeling for projection, camera animation, projection setup, image re-projection, and atmospherics and light passes

Provide or acquire photographic reference materials

Perform tasks related to integrating imagery into shots, preserving a unified sense of lighting, perspective, and color

Combine painting skills in animation software, with a knowledge of photography, practical and digital modeling, and design, to create 2D and 3D paintings

Work closely with the Department Head to ensure that plates meet planned concept design requirements.

**REQUIREMENTS**

A minimum of 2+ years previous experience as a Digital Matte Painter for live action feature and/or television

Exceptional knowledge of Nuke and basic principles of 3D texture projections in Maya

Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is essential

Expertise with Mari

Ability to provide concept treatments is considered an asset

Advanced knowledge of matte-painting techniques including colour space, digital-paint techniques, photography (including composition), depth, lighting and colour

Ability to take artistic and technical direction as well as work well within a team environment and in a leadership role

**Salary**: ₹20,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
