This is an exciting opportunity if you’re looking to work in the area of sustainability.

Sustainability has always been at the heart of everything we do. We want everyone to trek in a way that leaves mountains better than how you find it. This is the mission of our Green Trails initiative.

A big part of our Green Trails initiative is to constantly change our own practises so that we reduce our carbon footprint. This requires identifying problem areas, setting up sustainable systems, and overseeing the progress. It also requires constant communication to change mindsets.

To take this forward, we are looking for Green Trails interns who are deeply passionate about the environment.

This is a 3 month internship programme. It is going to be based in our trekking zones, where we operate.

Here are some key advantages of this specialised internship:

- ** Hands-on Experience**: At Indiahikes we are constantly trying to solve sustainable problems of the trekking world. This is the core work of the Green Trails Team. As a part of this team, you gain practical, real-world experience in the field of sustainability management. Many of our previous interns have gone on to work in bigger organisations or start their own. So if you are looking to kickstart a career in the field of sustainability, this experience is a great opportunity.
- **Understanding Environmental Challenges**: We’re seeing the impact of climate change in the mountains. Witnessing this change first-hand, while being a part of the team that addresses it gives you a rare perspective on how modern-day sustainable practises can impact the remote world of the mountains.
- **Personal Growth**: Being so intimately involved with the world of sustainability helps you develop a sense of environmental stewardship that makes you a more sustainable individual.
- **Networking Opportunities**: During this internship, you get the opportunity to connect with professionals, organisations, and experts in the industry. This helps in building a network that could open doors to future opportunities, mentorship, and collaborations.
- First, must be deeply, absolutely passionate about the environment
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must have done treks (we prefer if you have done Himalayan treks. If you have trekked with Indiahikes, that's even better)
- If you have work experience (in other industries), it greatly matters.
- Must have excellent English and Hindi communication skills.

Your stipend for the internship would be **Rs. 25,000 per month**. Indiahikes will cover the cost of your boarding and lodging, as well as any travel between our slopes.
