**Job title**: General Counsel, South America

We are looking for highly qualified General Counsel in South America (based in Brazil), with at least 8 years of post-qualified experience to oversee the legal aspects of a leading technology services company.

The General Counsel will manage the day-to-day functioning of the legal operations, corporate compliance, litigations and strategic matters involving legal and contractual matters, managing a legal team present in various countries across South America.

Ideally, your experience shall have included the drafting, negotiating and advising on contracts and issues related to commercial contracts (outsourcing, consulting, licensing, hosting and other services Atos offers its customers), some fair knowledge and practice of compliance and data protection issues (GDPR and other regulations), and it shall encompass the management of a legal department including lawyers, paralegal or assistants.

**Your day-to-day responsibilities will be to**:
Manage the legal department, including implementing and supervising processes and policies of the Atos’ group;
manage, motivate and provide guidance and direction to the members of the local legal team, including planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance and training;
manage and coordinate the handling of complex and varied legal and transactional matters
lead and execute end-to-end complex projects;
review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and procurement related contracts, working closely with Atos commercial, procurement and sales leads ensuring;
alignment with the Group’s key guidelines for commercial engagements;
provide expert legal advice to the management and the business, inter alia on corporate transactions, compliance, pension, treasury and procurement matters;
advising in contract reviews and approval processes;
define the strategy with the management regarding litigation, and cooperate with external counsels and advisors for the supervision of litigation processes;
act as the key liaison between the corporate functions of the Atos group and the local legal team;
participate in Group Legal Department activities and projects

**Practical information**:
The SAM General Counsel will report to Head of Growing Markets, a regional division of the Atos group uniting several geographies with a strong growth path ambition.

The position is primarily based in Atos’ offices in Brazil / Cidade Monções -São Paulo. Limited travel activity is to be expected. Atos has a hybrid working model with a mix of in office and work from home, and we have a high degree of flexibility in our way of working to allow for a good work/life balance.

Your work languages will be English, Portuguese and Spanish, so a good level of knowledge of each of them is expected.
