**Job Summary**: The Production Planner is responsible for creating and managing production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products. They work closely with production teams, suppliers, and inventory control to optimize processes, reduce waste, and meet customer demand efficiently.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Production Scheduling**: Develop, implement, and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and available inventory.
- **Coordination**: Work with various departments including purchasing, production, and quality assurance to ensure timely material availability and smooth workflow.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor and manage raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- **Process Improvement**: Continuously analyze production processes, identify bottlenecks, and suggest improvements to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.
- **Forecasting**: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create accurate demand forecasts and adjust production schedules accordingly.
- **Reporting**: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production status, inventory levels, and potential issues.
- **Problem-Solving**: Troubleshoot any production delays, shortages, or disruptions, and take corrective actions to minimize impacts on timelines.
- **Compliance**: Ensure that production processes comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- **Customer Communication**: Work with customer service and other teams to communicate production timelines and resolve any production-related issues.
- **Data Management**: Maintain accurate production records and system updates to track production efficiency and costs.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- **Experience**: Previous experience in production planning, manufacturing, or logistics. Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus.
- **Skills**:

- Strong understanding of production processes and inventory management.
- Proficiency in production scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.
- **Knowledge**: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
