**Position Overview**: The Canteen Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the college canteen, ensuring high-quality food service, maintaining health and safety standards, and overseeing the work of staff and volunteers. This role includes supervising food preparation, inventory management and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure smooth canteen operations. The supervisor will also handle financial responsibilities, staff coordination, and compliance with food safety regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Daily Operations Management**:

- Oversee the daily functioning of the canteen, including opening and closing procedures, food preparation, and serving.
- Ensure smooth operations by coordinating with cooks and staff, monitoring quality and quantity of meals, and addressing operational needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the canteen, ensuring daily cleaning and sanitization.
- **Food Preparation & Quality Control**:

- Supervise and assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring they meet quality, taste, and nutritional standards.
- Ensure that food is cooked, stored, and served following all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Monitor food wastage and implement strategies to minimize it.
- **Inventory & Stock Management**:

- Maintain accurate inventory records of groceries and supplies, ensuring stock levels are adequate for daily operations.
- Order and purchase necessary supplies, verify deliveries, and ensure all items match order specifications.
- Conduct regular stock checks and ensure appropriate levels of essential ingredients.
- **Volunteer & Staff Coordination**:

- Provide leadership and support to canteen staff and volunteers, ensuring they are trained in food handling and safety procedures.
- Develop and maintain volunteer rosters, ensuring adequate staffing levels throughout the day.
- Foster a positive working environment, encouraging participation and collaboration among the team.
- **Health & Safety Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food hygiene, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments in the canteen to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all staff and volunteers are trained in safe food handling and hygiene practices.
- **Financial Management & Reporting**:

- Reconcile daily cash takings, maintain financial records, and ensure accurate reporting.
- Monitor product pricing to ensure affordability and value for money, while maintaining profitability.
- Utilize online ordering systems to manage menus, process orders, and generate reports on sales and inventory.
- **Staff Transportation & Support**:

- Oversee transportation for night-shift staff, ensuring their safe return to designated locations when required.

**Additional Duties**:

- Attend regular meetings with college management, Canteen Committee, and other stakeholders to discuss canteen operations and improvements.
- Assist with planning and catering for special college events and staff functions.
- Ensure a respectful and dignified interaction with all students and staff, addressing issues promptly and professionally.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Certification in Safe Food Handling (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late evenings.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Basic financial management skills, including cash handling and reconciliation.
- Proficiency in online ordering systems and inventory management.

**Work Schedule**:

- The position requires flexibility with early starts and occasional evening responsibilities, depending on the college’s schedule and events.

**Salary and Compensation**
- **Salary Range**: Based on the interview performance
- **Benefits**: As defined by the management for this position.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
