Responsibilities for piping designer

Experienced and proficient in executing work using intelligent CAD systems like E3D, PDS, PDMS & SP3D
- Host a 3D model review for all disciplines while keeping the review on schedule
- Draft sketches, piping and instrument diagrams, and/or model 3D equipment items for Oil, Gas, & Chemical process plants, including but not limited to
- Interface with internal and Client staff (engineering, document control, implementing organizations, ) as required during the design change development and approval process
- Prepare piping designs based on project requirements (pipe routing, models, piping arrangements, isometrics, material take-offs, pipe support details, ) for mining and industrial plants
- Conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development and supervising vendor packages for equipment, nozzle loads, and anchor locations
- Mentors junior Piping Designers and, depending on size and complexity of scope of work, and assigned as the Piping Lead for a project
- Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, material quantity and budget control
- Independently develops complex plot plans and site plans of all types of plants, with the use of PFD's, process or mechanical datasheets,, in accordance with instructions, specifications, standards, HSE requirements, economics, ergonomics, constructability, operational and maintenance requirements
- Executes projects, within the established man-hour budget, schedule and material quantity budgets, and reports to the assigned Lead Piping
- Is responsible for planning, scheduling, piping material quantities, prioritizing, coordination, communication, work assignments, administration and the technical quality of the work executed and pro-actively follows-up all this

Qualifications for piping designer
- Previous experience creating and validating inspection ISO’s preferred
- Must have the ability to develop system design CAD files or drawings in conformance with project specifications, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practices
- 3 plus years of relevant Piping Design experience required
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / BE (Mechanical)
