South-South cooperation, gender equality and social inclusion are promoted across the pillars. The programme is supported by a framework of renewed partnerships and blended finance solutions, strategic innovation andand accelerator labs, and data and digital architecture.

You are invited to join a team of future-smart development professionals to support India in achieving the national and globally agreed goals. As part of the UNDP team, your focus will be to work with diverse stakeholders to find country-specific solutions that lead to sustainable development and reach those furthest behind first.

**Project Background**:
After the adoption of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, Govt. of India, as a Party to the CBD, is aligning the National Biodiversity Strategic Action Plan (NBSAP) and the National Biodiversity Targets with the new framework. UNDP as a GEF agency is supporting the MoEFCC and National Biodiversity Authority in this process.

UNDP seeks to engage an Intern to provide support the UNDP, NRM team in contributing to the updation of the NBSAP & in the setting up of the national biodiversity targets.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Under the guidance of the Head, Climate Adaptation, Natural Resource Management, and Biodiversity, UNDP India, the intern will be expected to:

- Support in coordination with the National Biodiversity Authority, the State Biodiversity Boards for planning and conducting activities towards NBSAP updation.
- Support UNDP in organizing webinars, trainings, events, etc. related to NBSAP processes.
- Support the project in undertaking research and documentation, developing concept notes and communication materials towards the implementation of the project.
- Participate and contribute in conducting and follow-up of meetings, workshops and consultations as required by engaging with the relevant stakeholders including governments, communities and donors.
- Ensure documentation of agenda and minutes of key workshops and consultation meetings.
- Any other tasks and responsibilities related to the biodiversity projects assigned by UNDP.

**Required Skills and Experience**

**Education**
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree/diploma programme in environment science, natural resources management, ecosystem restoration, wetlands management, sustainable development, or a related field;
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a relevant first university degree programme (such as bachelor's degree or equivalent);
- Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.

**Skills**
- Experience in research and documentation on environment and conservation issues.
- Basic understanding of issues pertaining to natural resource management, ecosystem restoration and biodiversity conservation especially familiarity with NBSAP and 6th National Reports to CBD.
