EHS Officer

The EHS Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. This role ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and environmental harm. The EHS Officer conducts risk assessments, facilitates training programs, and oversees emergency response planning.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Policy Development and Implementation**:

- Develop and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- **Risk Assessment and Management**:

- Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk control measures.
- **Training and Education**:

- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees.
- Educate staff on workplace safety practices and environmental policies.
- **Incident Investigation**:

- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommend preventative measures.
- **Audits and Inspections**:

- Conduct regular EHS audits and workplace inspections.
- Ensure that all safety equipment is maintained and used properly.
- Document findings and follow up on corrective actions.
- **Regulatory Compliance**:

- Stay up-to-date with EHS regulations and standards.
- Ensure that the organization complies with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
- **Emergency Response Planning**:

- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Coordinate and conduct emergency drills and exercises.
- Act as the primary contact during EHS emergencies.
- **Record Keeping and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of EHS activities, incidents, and training.
- Generate regular reports on EHS performance and metrics.
- **Sustainability and Environmental Management**:

- Promote sustainable practices and initiatives within the organization.
- Manage waste disposal, recycling, and pollution control programs.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments.
- **Continuous Improvement**:

- Identify opportunities for improving EHS performance.
- Lead or participate in EHS continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- **Experience**:

- 3-5 years of experience in EHS or a related field.
- Experience in conducting training and emergency response planning.
- **Certifications**:

- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent certification preferred.
- **Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS software.
- **Personal Attributes**:

- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Working Conditions:

- Work is performed in both office and field environments.
- May require standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Occasional travel to different work sites may be necessary.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
