**Position Summary**: The Purchase Department Trainee will assist the Purchase Manager and the procurement team with various tasks related to purchasing, supplier management, and inventory control. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and training in procurement processes, vendor negotiations, and supply chain management.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Assist in Procurement Activities**:

- Support the procurement team in sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist in preparing purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of goods and service.

**Vendor Management**:

- Help maintain and update a database of approved vendors and suppliers.
- Assist in evaluating vendor performance and compliance with quality standards.

**Inventory Control**:

- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with the warehouse team to ensure adequate stock.
- Help conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.

**Documentation and Record Keeping**:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts.
- Assist in preparing reports on procurement activities and vendor performance.

**Compliance and Quality Assurance**:

- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Assist in ensuring that purchased goods and services meet quality and regulatory standards.

**Market Research**:

- Assist in conducting market research to identify new suppliers and evaluate market trends.
- Help gather and analyze data on market conditions, price trends, and product availability.

**Administrative Support**:

- Provide administrative support to the Purchase Manager and the procurement team.
- Assist in scheduling meetings, coordinating with suppliers, and handling correspondence.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Previous internship or work experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
- Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems.
