- **What Data Scientists Do Here**:
As a data scientist, you will play a vital role of finding out the actionable insight from massive amount of data stored in the cloud based big data platforms. You will be working with cross functional team of industrial experts, project managers, software engineers to implement scalable solutions which will make the operations more safe, sustainable, reliable, and efficient.
- **Responsibilities**:

- Investigate, develop, design, and validate code to support data-driven decision
- Understand the problem statement, come up the strategy to solve the use case and provide clear idea about the progress of the steps
- Lead a discussion with cross functional group of people and design the action plan based on their inputs
- Doing a presentation in front of the management, project manager as well as project stakeholders
- Present findings of the data analytics exercise, work with the fields to improve the accuracy of the analytics and validate the results of their analytics
- Analyse, revise algorithm based on the customer input, domain experts inputs and software developers input to create high confidence in the solution
- Determine the approach about implementing
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance crew.
- The individual will follow standard coding practices for algorithm development engineering and commercial content.
- An individual will work with the team to individually contribute to project work.
- Data mining will also be an expectation, this is a key step to both starting a project (get ground truth data) and validation - is the model good enough?
- Engineering knowledge will be applied to confirm results and to validate with real-world ground truth
- Engineering knowledge will be applied with analytics/statistics to confirm that answers make sense and do not conflict with real-world physics.

**Educational Qualification & Experience required**:
Engineering Degree with Data Science/Data Analytics Specialization

Physics Degree, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering background/experience is preferred. Industrial experience with larger plant setup is desired.
- Formal training in mechanical or electrical engineering or applied analytics/statistics.
- 2-4 years of experience working in the industrial sectors such as power, mining, oil & gas, cement, manufacturing, chemical, pharma
- Experience with process industry equipment and Mechanical/industrial/production/chemical/mining/petroleum engineering degree combined with applied machine learning/analytics/statistics is desirable.
- Experience with data science and machine learning techniques.
- Experience in dealing with and merging multiple data sources from APIs, Databases, Excel spreadsheets, blob storage, IoT systems, etc.
- Experience with Python, Snowflake, Teradata, MS SQL, my SQL, MATLAB, PTC Thing Worx, OSIsoft PI is a plus.
- Experience with BI tools like Tableau/Power BI/Spark data visualization tools
- Experience with Predictive maintenance/Predictive analysis/ anomaly Detection
- Experience with Time Series data handling/ data mining/ Feature engineering
- Knowledge in Qlikview/Denodo will be added advantage
