Freight Broker

We are looking for a service-minded freight broker to act as a liaison between our customers and freight carriers. The freight broker will secure new accounts, expedite the sharing of information and documentation between customers and carriers, and communicate with dispatchers and drivers to track the status of loads. You will negotiate contracts with carriers in a manner that optimises profits. To ensure success in this position you need to maintain current knowledge of freight carrier services, and be effective in attracting new customers and ensuring customer retention. Top applicants are customer-oriented and have the ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

**Freight Broker Responsibilities**:

- Generating leads and attracting new prospects, and developing a sales pipeline.
- Identifying and selecting reputable and safe carriers for freight services.
- Providing customers with shipping quotes.
- Booking orders with carriers.
- Collaborating with shippers, carriers and dispatchers to manage scheduled collections and drop-offs.
- Keeping accurate records of relevant activities.
- Updating customers on the status of shipments, and assisting with other inquiries.
- Maintaining current knowledge of market trends in the transportation marketplace.
- Cold Calling experience
- Negotiate pricing shipment rates with shipper and or carriers
- Resolve logístical issues to ensure carrier satisfaction and retention
- Experienced negotiator and salesman
- Call shippers, carriers daily to capture available equipment and pricing opportunities
- Must be comfortable making multiple outbound cold calls
- Ensure timely processing of customer freight shipments
- Previous sales and/or customer service experience preferred Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities

**Freight Broker Requirements**:

- High school diploma, Graduation, or suitable equivalent.
- 6+ months of work experience in a similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain management
- Familiarity with logistics software, customer relationship management software and spreadsheets
- Strong problem-solving abilities to find solutions to issues that arise before, during and after shipments
- Well-honed negotiating skills to get the best possible quotes for customers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with carriers and clients located around the world
- Analytical skills to determine which carriers offer the right set of services for various clients
- Networking skills to build relationships with prospective clients and carriers
- Proven sales skills to obtain new clients and carriers and close shipping deals

**Salary - 40,000/- to 60,000**

**Salary**: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
