**Key Responsibilities**:

- **General Ledger Management**: Maintain and update the general ledger, including reviewing all accounting entries and ensuring accuracy.
- **Financial Reporting**: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- **Property Accounting**: Manage accounts related to property management, including rent collections, operating expenses, property tax payments, and capital expenditures.
- **Budgeting & Forecasting**: Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for real estate properties, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- **Accounts Payable & Receivable**: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, including vendor payments, tenant billing, and collections.
- **Reconciliations**: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
- **Tax Compliance**: Support the preparation of tax filings for real estate entities, including sales tax, property tax, and income tax returns.
- **Audit Support**: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and reports.
- **Cash Flow Management**: Monitor cash flow and ensure funds are available for property-related expenses and investments.
- **Lease Accounting**: Ensure proper accounting for leases, including lease agreements, rent escalations, and operating expenses.
- **Financial Analysis**: Provide analysis and insight into financial performance, identifying areas for cost savings and improving profitability.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the real estate industry (commercial or residential).
- In-depth knowledge of real estate accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, MRI, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of lease accounting and property management processes.
- Familiarity with tax laws related to real estate transactions and property taxes.
