- for -profit, Public Charitable Trust that that works for the improvement of quality of life for underprivileged communities across India through Health, Education, Livelihood and Disability sector interventions. THF undertakes direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing funding support to not-for-profit organisations in India through its donor - RIST, USA. THF’s Strategic planning focuses on key areas of its work with the aim of addressing the key issues of poverty alleviation, economic inequalities, and 360° impact on the quality of life through social development programs. THF’s programs are majorly implemented in the most rural and under-developed areas in the country. Over the years, THF has expanded its charitable activities in collaboration with State and Central Governments, institutions, corporates, academia and non-government organizations for sustainable interventions to achieve scale and economy. The interventions implemented by the foundation range from grass root level to national level programs.

It provides supportive services to children and adult with disabilities who more often lack access to the comprehensive and intensified services in those magical years of development and also needed across the lifespan. This approach dramatically improves individual’s chances to reach their full potential and functioning, have better quality of life and take up their right place in the society as adults. **Background of the Project**:Udavi**:Childhood **Development Centre**
- (An initiative with collaboration of The Hans Foundation and Satya Special School in Puducherry)_

It is an early intervention centre for high risk new born babies which will be operated from a Centre established in the premise of the hospital “Rajiv Gandhi maternity and child government hospital, Pondicherry” for providing array of services: assessment and diagnosis, early intervention, neuro developmental therapies, healthcare and rehabilitation, multidisciplinary interventions which is part of our broader effort to improve the lives of all children and adults with disabilities and to support reforms in the social system. The project will provide services to all children upto age of 0-6years.

**1. **General Information**
- Location: Rajiv Gandhi maternity and child government hospital, Pondicherry
- Type of Employment: Contractual for a period of 1-year, renewable basis project requirements
- Working hours: full time
- No. of Position: 01
- **Reporting**: Functionally to Manager/Senior Manager at THF

**2. Duties & Responsibilities**
- Screening and assessment of sensory & motor development
- Therapeutic intervention
- Offering home based services through home visits for intervention and assessment
- Conducting screening camps
- Record keeping & Documentation.
- Organizing & Conducting Training programs
- Recommendation & Distribution of Aids and assistive devices.
- Referral & Counselling
- Any other activities given time to time
- Establishes positive, trusting rapport with children.
- Creates individualized treatment plans according to children needs and circumstances.
- Meets with children regularly to provide counselling, treatment and adjust treatment plans
- as necessary.
- Involves and advises family members as and when needed.
- Refers children to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.
- Maintains thorough records of children meetings and progress.
- Follows all safety protocols and maintains children’s confidentiality.
- Contributes to practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed
- Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans.
- Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care.
- Keeping up to date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks.
- Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies.
- Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress.
- Providing mentoring and workshops to therapy students.
- Evaluating child’s progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required
