Transcriptionist - French

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Transcribe French audio and video content** into accurate written text.
- Ensure transcriptions are **error-free**, with correct grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.
- Format transcriptions according to the client’s specifications (e.g., verbatim, clean read, timestamped).
- Work with various types of content, including **interviews, podcasts, webinars, meetings, lectures**, and other media.
- Proofread and **edit** transcriptions to ensure quality and consistency.
- Deliver completed transcriptions within agreed deadlines, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Communicate with the project manager or client regarding any issues with the audio or transcription requirements.

**Requirements**:

- **Fluency in French** (both written and spoken).
- Strong understanding of French **grammar**, **syntax**, and **vocabulary**.
- Proven experience with transcription (e.g., audio or video to text).
- Familiarity with transcription tools or software (e.g., **Express Scribe**, **oTranscribe**, **Transcribe**, or others).
- Excellent **listening** and **typing** skills (typing speed of [X] words per minute or higher).
- Ability to transcribe difficult audio (e.g., fast speakers, heavy accents, low-quality recordings).
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to transcribe various types of content, including conversations, formal speech, and technical or business-related content.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Prior experience in **specialized transcription** (e.g., legal, medical, technical, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience transcribing **multiple speakers** or **group discussions**.
- Knowledge of French **regional accents** or dialects (e.g., Canadian French, African French) is an advantage.
- Experience working with **multilingual content** or understanding of **bilingual transcription** (French/English) is a plus.
