**Education**: Polymer chemists typically need a bachelor’s degree in polymer science, chemistry or a related field. Some universities offer bachelor’s degrees in polymer chemistry.
**Roles & Responsibilities**:
- Develop and optimize new polymeric materials and processes to meet the needs of the company’s products
- Design and execute experiments to characterize the physical and chemical properties of polymers
- Analyze data to identify trends and correlations, and develop models to predict material behavior
- Write reports and present findings to colleagues and management
- Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in polymer science and technology
- Develop an understanding of the company’s products and how they are used
- Work with other scientists and engineers to find new uses for existing polymers or to develop entirely new polymers
- Manage projects from start to finish, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling
- Train and mentor junior scientists and technicians
- Serve as a technical expert on polymer science and technology
- Review literature and patents to keep abreast of the latest developments in the field
- Attend conferences and seminars to network with other scientists and learn about new developments
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, or related field.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis methods
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety procedures
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and time management skills
**Salary**: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
