4. Roles & Responsibilities

A) Job Objective Responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance and reporting all pollution control equipment and activities across the plant.

Will liaise with governmental and regulatory bodies to uphold environmental compliances.

A Pollution Control 1 1 Oversee the operations of all production units, with a focus on adherence to all local and general environmental regulations and compliances.

2 2 Work closely with production unit teams to ensure all pollution control equipment are functioning as per norms and are maintained on a periodic basis to reduce all kinds of emissions.

3 3 Monitor pollutive emissions quantities to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.

4 4 Assess emission trends and work with production unit teams as well as Operations Excellence team to identify scope of pollution reduction.

5 5 Regularly monitor the health of all pollution control mechanisms and equipment to reduce the emissions.

6 6 Oversee all maintenance activities and audits of the pollution control equipment to identify deviances and assess the need to upgrade current systems.

B Environmental Liaising 7 1 Build strong working relations with the local governmental, legislative, and regulatory pollution control bodies

8 2 Provide technical support and expertise to the Corporate Affairs team with addressing all inquiries from various governmental, legislative, regulatory and audit bodies pertaining to pollution and emissions of the plant

9 3 Support the Corporate Affairs team with timely procurement of all licensing and compliances

C General Administration 10 1 Conduct daily inspections across the plant to validate the effectiveness of pollution control activities and report the same.

11 2 Maintain records of daily unit-wise emission, as well as the efforts and efficiency to mitigate the same.

Present the same as and how required to the senior management.

12 3 Work closely with the production unit teams to generate an understanding of the activities that release emissions and develop a sense of stewardship among all personnel towards reducing the same.

5. Role Requirements

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors in Environment science, chemical engineering or related field from a reputable institution.*
- Master’s degree in similar field preferred

Desired Experience
- 8+ years of experience in management position in steel plant, with a focus on pollution control and environmental compliance*

Functional Skills
- Excellent understanding local, state level and national environmental compliances, rules, and regulations, as well as regulatory bodies and licences.*
- Deep knowledge of steel manufacturing process and related pollution avenues
- Familiarity with environmental management systems and pollution prevention strategies
- Proven track record of successful project management and operational excellence
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
