We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Fellow Ophthalmologist **(Fellowship in Medical and surgical retina: Duration -2 years )** to join our team and provide specialized eye care to patients.
Proven work experience as an Ophthalmologist or similar role during residency.
- Expert working knowledge of the diseases, functions and anatomy of the eye.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
Qualification required: MD/ MS/ DNB in ophthalmology.
**Course Curriculum**:
The fellow will be proficient in the evaluation and management of diseases of the retina, vitreous, and choroid. Initially they will be doing hands on training to develop skills such as:
- Comprehensive examination of the retina and vitreous including Indirect Ophthalmoscopy, 90D slit lamp bio
- microscopic examination.
- Optical coherence tomography
- OCT Angiography
- Autofluorescence
- Ultrasonography
- Electroretinography
- Fluorescein angiography
- ICG angiography
They will be exposed to the evaluation and management of retinal conditions including vascular, infectious, inflammatory, neoplastic, degenerative, and hereditary disorders.
**Hands-on Training **:Subsequent to learning and acquiring proficiency in use of slit-lamp, + 90 D retina exam and Indirect ophthalmoloscopy., the fellow will be given hands -on training for phacoemulsification ,laser procedures like Yag capsulotomy /PI, Argon-green laser laser for retinal diseases like diabetic retinopathy. The fellow will learn and perform the procedures independently.He will also screen for cataracts, other lid/conjunctival treatable lesions in the AKIO charitable OPD's and perform the procedures after training. He will assist in retinal buckling/VR surgeries and learn to assist ,understand and do some retinal procedure steps in the last 6 months of his/her fellowship. ( During the fellowship ,Fellows are expected to read relevant retina textbooks and update themselves ,besides asking the consultants their queries).
**Salary and Benefits**:
Fellows will be paid a fixed monthly stipend of 75,000/- in the first year with increment of 10% in the following year.
Leave for conferences and professional meetings will be allotted. A pre-approval is mandatory.
