**Key Responsibilities**:

- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in English language and literature, incorporating phonics instruction and literacy development activities.
- Teach students in grades 6-12 (or equivalent) to develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills using phonics-based approaches and strategies.
- Integrate a variety of instructional resources, materials, and technology tools to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians on their progress.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and supported in their language learning journey.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs, interests, and learning styles of students, including English Language Learners (ELLs) and students with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units, integrate phonics instruction across the curriculum, and share best practices in English language teaching.
- Stay current with developments in English language teaching, phonics instruction, and literacy research, and incorporate evidence-based practices into teaching.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and school events to contribute to the academic and cultural life of the school community.

**Qualifications**:

- Master's degree in English Literature, English Language Teaching, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification or qualification from a recognized teacher training program.
- Specialized training or certification in phonics instruction or literacy development preferred.

- Strong knowledge of phonics principles, methods, and best practices in literacy instruction.
