**Role Description**

Data technology (DT) is an authoritative source for instrument, book, product, party and common reference data in the bank. This includes processing of various feeds (external/internal), generating golden copy and distributing it for front/middle & back-office consumers.

You will work as part of a cross-functional agile delivery team. As an Engineer you will designs, build, and configure technical solutions in different environments in response to business problems. You will bring an innovative approach to software development, focusing on using the latest technologies and practices.

**Your key responsibilities**
- Work as part of a delivery team collaborating with others to understand requirements, analyses and refine stories, design solutions, implement/test them and support them in production.
- Working with the team on functional and non-functional requirements, technical analysis and design, coding and testing, reviewing other team member’s changes. Unit test automation of new and existing functionality for maximum code coverage.
- Document business and functional requirements, design decisions and API
- Ensure that the software you build is reliable and easy to support in production. Be prepared to take your turn on call providing 3rd line support when it's needed.
- Contribute to the definition of the future state of the system architecture.

**Your skills and experience**
- Deep knowledge of Java, the JVM, object orientation and design principles
- Significant development experience, working within an agile environment and using modern engineering practices.
- Experience of Docker and Kubernetes as well as exposure to a range of modern build tools, such as Maven, Jenkins, etc.
- Using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery to ensure that changes can be done quickly and safely.
- Experience of Micro Services based architecture using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud
- Exposure to Kubernetes or OpenShift is an added advantage.
- Good to Have exposure to Kafta, Google Cloud platform.
