Primary Backup and Secondary Storage

Essential Skills
- Implementation and configuration of Storage and Backup devices

a) PRIMARY Backup Tools: EMC Networker 19, SECONDARY - Veeam (7/9.5)

b) Backup Hardware: DataDomain(3300/6800/6500), SpectraLogic, HP MSL, Dell(PowerVault).
- Administration and troubleshooting the issues in Storage and Backup infrastructure.
- Creating SOPs.

Backup Technical Skills:

- Performing Monthly Check of Datacenter, Rack layouts, device locations. Provide feedback / recommendation in case of any issues found.
- Driving Service Improvement Plans and Value Adds
- P1 call handling and providing technical support on Networker 8 and above.
- Experience on Fine tuning of database backups (SQL/Oracle/SAP), DD and Networker based replications.
- Understanding the business architecture and provide value based support
- Work on the capacity management and on the media requriements.
- Extensive experience on media management and forecasting.
- ITSM/ITIL processes, preferably ITIL trained

Storage skills
- Hands on experience of storage provisioning and decommissioning
- Understanding of SAN switch alerts and zoning concepts.
- SAN/NAS/DAS understanding
- Hands-on experience on switch monitoring.

Business Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to prioritise workload based on Frontline objectives.
- Team worker, able to liaise with both internal and external service functions
- A self-starter with ability to work on their own initiative
- To work through issues analytically to a successful conclusion

Reporting Skills
- Contribute to the monthly reporting on KPI and SLA
- Providing value adds related to the environment which can be converted into Dollar value.
