Main Responsibilities:
1. Compliance with Factory Act and Gujarat Factories Rules:
- Ensure strict adherence to the provisions of the Factory Act and Gujarat Factories Rules.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation related to workplace safety and implement necessary adjustments.
2. Safety Inspections:
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the workplace to identify and rectify potential hazards.
- Encourage workers’ participation in identifying and reporting workplace hazards and near-misses.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to implement corrective actions based on inspection findings.
- Actively participate in safety committee meetings.
- Familiar with Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment and Aspect-Impact Assessment procedure.
3. Emergency Preparedness:
- Assist in development and implementation of emergency response plans in accordance with legal requirements.
- Conduct mock drills and training sessions to ensure all employees are well-prepared for emergencies.
4. Safety Training:
- Organize and conduct safety training programs for employees, focusing on the prevention of workplace accidents and injuries.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety training initiatives.
5. Incident Investigation, Reporting and Record-keeping:
- Ensure effective RCA of all incidents and implementation of CAPA within the stipulated deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, incidents, and inspections.
6. PPE & Work Permit System Implementation:
- Ensure proper selection, maintenance, and use of PPE by all employees.
- Ensure effective implementation of work permit system for all high-risk activities and maintain proper documentation.
7.Waste Management:
- Oversee the implementation of effective waste management practices in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to minimize waste generation and ensure proper disposal methods.
- Ensure disposal of all the hazardous wastes, E-Waste through online manifest system.
- Ensure compliance of all regulations related to Bio-Medical Waste management and maintain related legal documentation.
Experience and required competencies:
- Relevant post qualification experience of 1-2 years is required in the field of Industrial Safety with specific knowledge of the Factory Act, Gujarat Factories Rules, PPE management, work permit systems, and waste management.
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety concerns
**Education**:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Preferably in Mechanical Engineering)/ Diploma of Engineering/ Any Graduation. Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS) will be preferred
