Job Description: Academic Counselor for Nextskill Technologies

We are seeking a passionate and driven Academic Counselor to join our dynamic team at an esteemed IT Training & Placement Institute. As an Academic Counselor, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting students throughout their educational journey and helping them achieve their career goals in the IT industry.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide personalized academic counseling to students, understanding their aspirations, interests, and career objectives.
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to assess students' educational background, skills, and aptitude, and provide appropriate guidance on suitable IT training programs.
- Assist students in selecting the right courses, certifications, and training modules based on their career objectives and market demands.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, advancements, and demands in the IT industry to provide accurate and relevant information to students.
- Collaborate with instructors and trainers to understand the course content, training methodologies, and expected outcomes to effectively guide students.
- Address students' queries and concerns related to course curriculum, training schedules, job prospects, and industry requirements.
- Provide information about financial aid options, and assistance in completing the necessary documentation.
- Monitor students' progress throughout the training program, ensuring they are meeting academic requirements and making satisfactory progress.
- Conduct periodic follow-ups with students to provide support, motivation, and guidance during the program.
- Coordinate with the placement team to facilitate job placement opportunities for students after successful completion of the training program.
- Collaborate with educational institutions, industry professionals, and companies to build strong partnerships and stay connected with industry trends and requirements.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Education, Counseling, or IT-related discipline).
- Previous experience in academic counseling, career counseling, or related roles in the education or training industry is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of the IT industry, including various job roles, technical skills, certifications, and emerging technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, instructors, and industry professionals.
- Excellent counseling and listening skills to understand students' needs and provide appropriate guidance.
- Ability to stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and market demands in the IT field.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple student profiles, schedules, and documentation.
- Familiarity with financial aid options, and related processes.
- Knowledge of student assessment methodologies and career development practices.
- Passion for helping students achieve their educational and career goals.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with mínimal supervision.
