The Pharmacy Assistant is a vital member of the healthcare team, providing essential support to pharmacists in the delivery of pharmaceutical care and pharmacy operations.
This role involves a range of clerical and administrative tasks aimed at maintaining an efficient and customer-focused pharmacy service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions and over-the-counter medications.
- Manage inventory by ordering, receiving, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies.
- Operate the cash register, process transactions, and handle financial exchanges with accuracy.
- Provide exceptional customer service, including answering queries and directing medication-related questions to the pharmacist.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and create patient profiles in accordance with pharmacy protocols.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization within the pharmacy to uphold health and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; further education in pharmacy services is advantageous.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player with a customer-oriented approach and the capacity to work under mínimal supervision.
