**Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Conceptualized in the year 2004 as a philanthropic initiative for the Eastern and North-Eastern
parts of India and the neighboring countries, the Tata Medical Center (TMC) started operations in
Kolkata on May 16, 2011. The hospital is governed by a charitable trust - Tata Medical Centre Trust.
It is an integrated Oncology facility with well-trained professional staff and equipped with modern
facilities and the most contemporary medical equipment. The hospital was designed by Cannon
Design, a renowned architectural firm from North America. It is located on 13 acres of land at New
Town in Kolkata, West Bengal.

with modern facilities and contemporary medical equipment. The Hospital, with a capacity of 437
beds, serves all sections of the society, with 75% of the infrastructure earmarked for subsidized
treatment for the underprivileged sections. It provides a wide spectrum of services from diagnosis
and therapy to rehabilitation and palliative support. The Institution’s objective is to excel in service,
education and research

**Technologist.
**Qualification:
**B.Sc in Nuclear Medicine /M. Sc in Nuclear Medicine/ DMRIT from a recognized University approved by
AERB Authority. RSO Certification is desirable.

**Experience**:Experience preferable but not mandatory. Freshers may also apply.

**Brief Job Description:
**The department is equipped with two 64 slice PET-CT, a SPECT CT, Radio-Isotope Therapy ward

and the facility of Radio
- guided surgery. The technologist will be involved in the following working

areas:

To prepare Radiopharmaceutical for the investigation.

To ensure that the standard temperature prevails in the investigation room

To maintain proper calibration of the instrument and respond to the comments.

Adjustment of the instruments as per the appointment order.

To prepare the patient as per the SOP and make them comfortable during the investigation.

To ensure the safety measures taken while performing the investigation.

Ensure proper positioning of the patients as per the investigation requirement.

Ensure the process of Gallium Synthesis (medicine preparation).

To have proper administration of radio-pharmaceuticals before starting the investigations.

Ensuring proper scanning.

Preparing the scan images and reporting to the Consultant.

Ensure follow ups of strict radiation safety norms and report to RSO in case any discrepancy is

noted.

Effective contribution on quality initiative for self-development and others.

Ensure all the staff working in the same field should demonstrate the same effective and

efficient practice of their job

To be involved in patient data collection of patients as required from time to time and

contribute to various Audit processes that would be undertaken in the Unit.

To ensure the quality patient services and always demonstrate high standard patient centric

approach and attitude while on duty.

In addition to the aforesaid jobs, Technologists will perform all other relevant duties as and

when required and /or to be assigned by the Consultant and the Management.

The aforesaid jobs / deliverables are not exhaustive but illustrative in nature.
