- **Assisting the Head Chef or Sous Chef**: Help in preparing ingredients for dishes, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces.
- **Pre-cooking Preparation**: Responsible for mise en place (everything in its place), ensuring all ingredients are ready before service begins.
- **Following Recipes**: Adhere to standardized recipes and guidelines to maintain consistency in the café’s offerings.
2. **Cooking and Plating**
- **Basic Cooking Tasks**: Grill, sauté, bake, and fry food items, especially those commonly found in continental cuisine like pasta, grilled meats, and salads.
- **Plating Dishes**: Assist in plating food aesthetically according to café standards.
- **Assisting in Breakfast and Brunch Service**: This often includes preparing items like omelets, sandwiches, and continental breakfasts.
3. **Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene**
- **Sanitizing Workstations**: Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces regularly.
- **Adhering to Food Safety Standards**: Follow all food safety and hygiene guidelines to prevent contamination.
- **Dishwashing Duties**: Sometimes assist with washing dishes and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.
4. **Inventory Management**
- **Stock Control**: Help in checking and organizing pantry and refrigerator stock. Report low stock levels to the Head Chef.
- **Proper Storage**: Ensure ingredients are stored correctly to prolong freshness and minimize waste.
5. **Assisting with Menu Development**
- **Suggestions for Specials**: Provide input on potential daily specials or seasonal dishes.
- **Menu Tasting**: Participate in tastings and trials for new menu items.
6. **Team Collaboration**
- **Working with Other Chefs**: Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of dishes.
- **Training Junior Staff**: Occasionally assist in training junior commis chefs or kitchen assistants.
- **Adapting to Café Environment**: Ability to work efficiently in a busy, often fast-paced café setting.
7. **Adapting to Customer Preferences**
- **Handling Special Requests**: Prepare dishes according to customer dietary needs or preferences (like gluten-free, vegetarian, etc.).
- **Quality Control**: Ensure each dish leaving the kitchen meets the café's quality standards.
8. **Additional Responsibilities**
- **Waste Management**: Minimize food waste and ensure proper disposal.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and report any issues to the chef in charge.
- **Assisting During Events**: Help with catering orders or café events that may require additional support.
Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
