**Research Associate - India Gold Policy Centre (IGPC)
**IGPC is looking for a full-time Research Associate. Research associates are involved in all stages
of the research process and are expected to work independently within the scope of their
responsibilities. Duties include, but are not limited to, collaborating on research design,
conducting survey, data analysis, interpreting results, and drafting and editing manuscripts and
presentations.

IGPC at IIMA established in 2014 with initial financial support from the World Gold Council, is a
center of excellence that conducts cutting-edge applied research on the gold industry in India.
The purpose of this research is to provide insights and suggest ways to implement the findings,
in order to bring reforms to the Indian gold market. As a think tank, the IGPC strives to
recommend policies and practices in the gold ecosystem through research, engagement, policy
interventions, and training. IGPC works closely with the various government departments and
stakeholders from the industry to provide meaningful policy advice keeping an unbiased
viewpoint. It aims to map all segments of the gold value chain for a uniform reform impact. As
discussions in global conventions and the proactive stance of policy makers and stakeholders in
the value chain have gained momentum, the IGPC has become a significant player in these
deliberations. At IGPC, policy takes center stage. The goal is to have a positive impact on the
economy by formalizing the gold trade and increasing its significance to the country’s GDP.
Additionally, IGPC seeks to expand its reach in the academic world and promote the development
of scholars in the field of gold.

**Job Responsibilities: **

Data modelling and analysis

Assist on the research projects undertaken by the Centre

Writing detailed report and making presentations.

Assist in writing articles on global economy and gold markets and other related matters
and provide editorial support.

To conduct research and write articles, policy briefs, reports, cases etc. independently
and in coordination with Centre Head/ Faculty and Chair.

Assist in gathering market intelligence through engagements with the
stakeholders across the industry value chain, writing detailed reports and making
presentations

Creating and updating databases of the Centre

Assist in conceptualising research projects in coordination with the Faculty and
the Centre Head

**Qualifications, Experience & Technical skills**:

Postgraduate in Economics / Finance/ Econometrics/ Cognitive Science / Data Science from an
Institution of repute

Ability to work on theme-based research.

Knowledge of statistical / analytical / DBMS tool kits like R, Stata, SPSS, Tableau etc.

Excellent writing and data presentation skills.
Strong communication skills, creativity, and critical thinking

Must have excellent communication skills (written and oral) with good foundational knowledge
of statistics and econometrics.

**Compensation**: Compensation will be commensurate with the qualification and experience.

**Duration**: The position will be offered for an initial period of one year **from date of joining** and
may be extended based on performance and requirement.
