- **Job Summary**:_Karris K9 Kamp is seeking a motivated and responsible individual to join our team as a Dog Handler and Van Driver. This role involves providing excellent care and handling of dogs, as well as ensuring safe and reliable transportation for pick-up and drop-off services, home grooming visits, and other tasks related to dog boarding and grooming.
- **Responsibilities**:_
- **Dog Handling**:Safely handle and care for dogs of various breeds and sizes.
- Supervise and monitor the behavior and interactions of dogs in a group setting.
- Provide exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation for dogs to ensure their well-being.
- Adhere to any specific care instructions provided by dog owners.
- Recognize and address any signs of distress, illness, or behavioral issues in dogs and report them to the appropriate staff.
- **Van Driving**:Safely operate the company van to transport dogs for pick-up and drop-off services.
- Follow assigned schedules and routes for timely arrivals and departures.
- Maintain a clean and organized van, ensuring it is properly equipped with necessary supplies.
- Adhere to all traffic rules, regulations, and safety standards while driving.
- Regularly inspect the van for maintenance issues and report any concerns to the management.
- **Home Grooming Assistance**:Accompany the grooming team to clients' homes for grooming appointments.
- Assist with setting up grooming equipment and ensuring a safe environment for both the dog and the groomer.
- Hold and comfort dogs during grooming procedures, as needed.
- Handle any necessary paperwork, including obtaining client signatures and recording grooming details accurately.
- **Requirements**:_
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience handling and caring for dogs is preferred but not required. Passion for working with animals is a must.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and handling energetic dogs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients, fellow staff members, and dog owners.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to adapt to changes in schedules, tasks, and priorities.
- Knowledge of dog behavior, basic first aid, and grooming practices is a plus.
