As an IT System Administrator he is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of an organization's IT infrastructure. Their duties and responsibilities include:

- Installation and Configuration: Installing, configuring, and maintaining software, operating systems, servers, storage devices, and networking equipment.
- User Support: Providing technical support and assistance to users, resolving hardware and software problems, and addressing user inquiries.
- System Security: Implementing and maintaining security protocols, including firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption tools to protect sensitive data and secure the IT infrastructure.
- Network Management: Monitoring and maintaining an organization’s network, ensuring connectivity and optimizing performance.
- System Monitoring: Regularly monitoring system performance and troubleshooting any reported or detected issues to ensure system availability and reliability.
- Backup and Recovery: Implementing and managing data backup and recovery procedures to ensure business continuity and protect against data loss.
- Hardware Maintenance: Inspecting, repairing, and replacing faulty hardware components, such as servers, switches, and storage devices.
- Software Updates and Patches: Proactively implementing necessary software updates, patches, and upgrades to minimize risks associated with software vulnerabilities.
- Documentation: Maintaining detailed documentation on system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with industry standards, data protection regulations, and any organizational policies related to IT systems and infrastructure.
- Capacity Planning: Forecasting and planning for potential system expansion and growth based on business needs and user requirements.
- Vendor Management: Collaborating with vendors and suppliers to acquire required hardware, software, and services, as well as managing warranties and support contracts.
- Training and Development: Providing training and guidance to staff on IT best practices and newly implemented systems or technologies.
- Incident Management and Response: Effectively managing and responding to IT incidents and emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
- Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with other IT professionals, department heads, and management to understand and meet the organization's technology needs.

**Requirements**:

- Relevant degree or diploma in Information systems or information technology.
- Microsoft MCSE certification or similar.
- Past experience administering server-side technology and networked computing systems.
- Familiarity with SQL and database operations.
- Ability to prioritize a wide range of workloads with critical deadlines.
- Availability outside of working hours to resolve emergency issues promptly.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Patient and professional demeanor, with a can-do attitude.
