Job Description: Drone Operator and Video Editor
**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Drone Operation**:
- Operate drones for capturing high-quality aerial footage, including video and photos.
- Ensure safe and efficient drone flight, following all safety protocols and regulations.
- Scout and select optimal locations for drone shots, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with the creative team to execute pre-planned shots and adapt to spontaneous shooting needs.
- Conduct regular drone maintenance and ensure the equipment is in excellent working condition.
- **Video Editing**:
- Edit aerial footage and raw video into polished, professional-quality video content.
- Use video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) to edit, enhance, and color-grade footage.
- Add music, sound effects, transitions, and other post-production elements to videos.
- Ensure videos meet project specifications, including formatting, pacing, and resolution.
- Work closely with directors or content creators to understand vision and project goals.
- Produce final video deliverables for various platforms (social media, websites, TV, etc.) in different formats.
- **Project Management**:
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members, including photographers, videographers, and directors, to ensure project objectives are met.
- Review and provide feedback on edits to ensure high standards of quality and consistency.
- Maintain organized archives of video footage and edited content.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- Proven experience as a drone operator with a solid portfolio of aerial footage.
- Expertise in video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Knowledge of video post-production techniques, including color correction, sound design, and visual effects.
- Strong understanding of drone flight safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, creativity, and ability to adapt to changes during shoots.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with teams and clients.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems related to drone operation or video editing software.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Drone pilot certification (e.g., FAA Part 107 for US-based applicants).
- Experience with 3D rendering and animation software (e.g., After Effects, Blender).
- Familiarity with different types of drones and camera setups (e.g., DJI, GoPro, etc.).
- Experience with live streaming or broadcasting from drones.
**Work Environment**:
- Fieldwork in outdoor environments, possibly in varying weather conditions.
- Office or studio work for video editing tasks.
- May require flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for shoots.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to operate a drone and handle video editing tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to carry and set up drone equipment (up to pounds).
