Join us as a Risk & Control Associate
- This is a challenging and engaging role, where you’ll establish and implement robust risk and control assurance testing governance
- You’ll be providing an impartial assessment and independent guidance, based on best practices, to a variety of risk and governance related topics
- Hone your existing industry knowledge and experience and expand your network across the bank
- This role is available at associate level

**What you'll do**:
As a Risk & Control Associate, you’ll work in close partnership with the respective line teams to monitor, assess, report and analyse controls, resultant risk issues, trends and governance processes. We’ll look to you to achieve the right balance of assisting and challenging line management and colleagues to make sure operational risk is proactively managed.

Day-to-day, you’ll be managing the risk and control proactively in the first line of defence and act as a bridge between the business and the regional operations controls management and the second line of defence.

You’ll also:

- Review and enhance the control framework to manage the risks within the unit, with constant engagement with colleagues and line management
- Manage the risk issue and event management process along with the related reporting and MI
- Complete and submit control deliverables like regulation, credit and capital submission, risk review dashboard, environmental control framework certification and assurance testing
- Make sure the business continuity plan is fit for purpose and evaluate the team’s recovery capacity through testing the plan
- Asses the effectiveness of existing SOX controls, risk and control assurance controls and knowledge gaps through assurance testing

**The skills you'll need**:
We’re looking for someone educated to degree level or with an MBA or CA, with exposure in risk and control. You’ll have effective relationship building and communication skills, with the ability to adapt your delivery style and language to suit the audience and communicate to people at various levels.

You’ll also need:

- Good attention to detail and influencing and analytical skills
- A good understanding of banking operations and an awareness of risk, controls, and security
- The availability to work evening shifts
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex issues and solutions to mixed audiences and resolve conflicts and complexity by delivering practical solutions
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A strong team player, and promote an effective team environment
