DAMP is an interdisciplinary research hub at MAHE that offers a B.Sc. Honours in Physics, and Master’s Programs in interdisciplinary
areas such as Photonics and Nanoscience and Technology. It also offers very active research groups that work in subdomains of
Physics, Photonics, and Nanoscience and Technology. The Department is carrying out research under the realm of atomic and
molecular physics with a special focus on Ultra-fast Laser matter interactions, Multi-modal and single-cell spectroscopy, Trace element
detection using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, Miniaturized photonics device fabrication, Nanoparticles and nanostructures
spectroscopy, Laser assisted nanostructure mediated crystallization, Nanobioimaging, Condensed matter physics, Plasmonics, and
Biophysics. The department also offers a program in MSc Photonics. In addition, there are postgraduate programs in Nanoscience &
Technology and Biophysics. The department also offers certificate courses in Laser Applications in Medicine and Biology and
Nanoscience & Technology.

**Cadre Eligibility**

**Assistant Professor**

Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics and Ph.D. in Physics/Photonics with proven research
experience are preferred

Experience: 2-3 years of post-doctoral experience in ultrafast photonics, non-linear optics,
micro-machining, etc in a foreign university

**Assistant Professor**

Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics and Ph.D. in Physics/Photonics/Nanoscience and
Technology with proven research experience are preferred

Experience: 2-3 years of post-doctoral experience in biomedical optics, device automation,
nanobiophotonics/ Advanced Nanomaterial Characterization, etc in a foreign university

**Assistant Professor**

Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics and Ph.D. in Physics/Photonics/Nanoscience and
Technology with proven research experience are preferred

Experience: 2-3 years of post-doctoral experience in nanoscience and technology, 2D
materials, quantum technologies, quantum optics etc in a foreign university**
Carry out Independent research activity and obtain research funding.

Establish national and international research and academic collaborations.

Initiate industry driven result oriented translational research

Teach, guide, lead, and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students

Participate in departmental and university activities to meet the vision and mission of the department as well as the
