_**Social Science Facilitator**_

**Location**: Edify World School, Attapur

**Job Purpose**:
To deliver engaging and comprehensive Social Science lessons that develop students' understanding of history, geography, civics, and economics while fostering critical thinking, curiosity, and awareness of the world around them.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- **Curriculum Delivery**:

- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in alignment with the curriculum (CBSE/CAIE/IGCSE).
- Make Social Science topics relevant and relatable by connecting concepts to real-world scenarios and current events.
- Use interactive teaching strategies like discussions, debates, role-plays, and storytelling to make learning engaging.
- **Lesson Planning and Instruction**:

- Develop creative lesson plans and teaching aids to cater to various learning styles.
- Integrate technology (maps, multimedia tools, documentaries, presentations) to enhance teaching and learning.
- Promote inquiry-based learning and critical thinking through project-based activities and case studies.
- **Assessment and Feedback**:

- Conduct formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to improve their understanding and performance.
- Maintain accurate records of student assessments, assignments, and participation.
- **Student Development**:

- Encourage students to explore global issues, cultures, and perspectives.
- Foster critical thinking and analytical skills through research projects and presentations.
- Prepare students for Social Science-related competitions, exhibitions, and quizzes.
- **Classroom Management**:

- Create an inclusive, respectful, and interactive learning environment.
- Ensure effective time management to cover the syllabus while addressing student needs.
- Handle classroom behavior positively, fostering a sense of responsibility and discipline.
- **Collaboration and Professional Growth**:

- Work with fellow teachers to plan interdisciplinary projects and school events.
- Participate in professional development programs, workshops, and seminars.
- **Parental Engagement**:

- Share regular updates with parents regarding student progress and achievements.
- Conduct parent-teacher meetings to address concerns and discuss academic goals.
- **School Activities and Events**:

- Assist in organizing events such as heritage days, model United Nations (MUN), debates, and exhibitions.
- Participate in school assemblies, field trips, and co-curricular activities to enrich the student learning experience.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Educational Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in History, Geography, Political Science, or related fields.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching certification is preferred.
- **Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of Social Science concepts and current affairs.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
- Ability to foster critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for effective teaching.
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- **Experience**:

- 2-5 years of teaching experience in Social Science at the middle school level.
- Experience with CBSE/CAIE/IGCSE curriculum is an added advantage.
