Cisco Security Business Group (SBG) is at the forefront of developing solutions for addressing the security challenges of our customers. The Cloud Security group within SBG focuses on developing cloud-delivered security solutions (SaaS based) in a platform-centric approach. This group values and nurtures innovation in an incredibly powerful and high-growth domain. The group was formed by combining some of the existing cloud assets Cisco had with two hugely successful acquisitions - OpenDNS and CloudLock. Our vision is to build the most complex security solutions in a cloud-delivered way with utmost simplicity - disrupt the industry's thinking around how deep and how broad a security solution can be while keeping it easy to deploy and simple to manage. We are at an exciting stage of this journey with 100% YoY growth, and looking for a hard-working, innovative, and productive engineering leader for our Product and Infra Engineering group to help us scale our business.

**What you will do**
- Act as a key architect of the Cisco Umbrella product.
- Create and productize new security capabilities of the product.
- Support and accelerate scalability, reliability, and performance improvement in the product.
- Drive long-term architectural direction for the product and threat protection technologies.
- Mentor engineers in the group and promote engineering excellence.
- Support innovation and rapid prototyping in the product. Promote innovation opportunities and partner closely with Product Management on providing top-notch product experience.
- Improve and recommend best SDLC practices.
- Partner with like-minded architects across Cisco on new product opportunities and broad initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and root cause critical customer problems as needed.

**Who you are**
- Strong, hands-on expertise in typical PaaS and IaaS platforms, such as Kubernetes, virtualization, and public cloud infrastructure.
- Good hands-on coding skills in one or more common programming languages (Python, Go, C).
- Hands-on experience in CI/CD and cloud operations.
- Capable of rapid prototyping of innovative solutions.
- Experience in networking and data center design.
- Fluent and confident communication skills: both with external parties (customers, partners) and executive stakeholders.
- Good technical leadership skills, capable of mentoring senior and junior engineers, and contributing to internal and external thought leadership. Having a blogging and/or presentation portfolio is highly desirable.
- Background in software optimization and performance analysis.
- Strong expertise in typical SDLC and DevOps practices, and ability to influence SDLC strategy.
