Job Description:

The Senior Librarian at JKKN College of Engineering and Technology will lead the library team and be responsible for the management, development, and delivery of library services that align with the college's vision and mission. They will work closely with faculty and students to identify and meet their information and research needs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement library policies and procedures that align with the college's vision and mission
• Manage and oversee the library staff, including training, mentoring, and coaching
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive collection of print and electronic resources, ensuring they meet the needs of the faculty and students
• Oversee the acquisition, cataloging, and circulation of library materials
• Promote and market library services and resources to faculty and students
• Develop and deliver information literacy programs and workshops for faculty and students
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy into the curriculum
• Provide reference services to faculty and students
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in library services
• Prepare and manage the library budget

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a library management role, preferably in an academic setting
• Experience in collection development, cataloging, reference, and library instruction
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in library services
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students from diverse backgrounds
• Experience with library automation systems and online databases
• Knowledge of engineering and technology subject areas would be an advantage.
