General Summary
Conduct efficient site investigation and detailed technical analysis of earth material and risk assessment of geological hazards. Ensure geological factors affecting engineering works are identified and provided for. Review plans that conform to specific ordinances dealing with earth and soil stability.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supervise and carry out field tests such as permeability, vane shear and pressure meter.
2. Ensure all samples are in a proper sequence and well identified.
3. Make visual description of encountered soil and rock materials during drilling and prepare Logs.
4. Take photographs of rock core samples and download the photos in the project folders.
5. Conduct laboratory testing schedule for the geotechnical investigation samples in coordination with geotechnical engineer.
6. Assist geotechnical engineer in preparation of factual and routine geotechnical reports.
7. Check the initial draft borehole and trial bit logs after typed by Data Entry and submitted to the reporting engineer for his final modification according to the lab test results.
8. Ensure proper storage and disposal of geotechnical samples.
9. Ensure customers' requirements are carried out in accordance to contract specification, international or approved in house policies and procedures.
10. Perform effective field investigations of concerned subdivisions in reference with the structural stability of existing excavations.
11. Allocate sites to drillers and arrange field geologists for site work.
12. Instruct drillers on the drilling methodology and tools.
13. Check and sign the daily drilling reports belong to his projects on daily basis and write his notes, if required.
14. Follow-up the implementation of the safety regulations and protection measures in the field.
15. Study composition, structure and history of site.
16. Address all types of drainage, soils and geological requirements.
17. Examine rocks, minerals, and fossil remains to identify and determine sequence of processes affecting development of earth.
18. Assess the integrity of soil, rock, groundwater and other natural conditions prior to major construction projects.
19. Carry out special projects, specifically on engineering geology and prepares corresponding reports.
20. Prepare and write technical proposals.
21. Ensure all drilling rig and instruments are fit for use by implementing calibration and maintenance program.
22. Ensure health and safety regulation during drilling and field testing are well implemented.
23. Perform site inspection during proposal stage to describe site condition, geology and accessibility.
24. Keep records and update the required training courses such as H2S, HEWT, PTW, Operators certificates ... etc. for all department staff.
25. Marketing the department in coordination with the Marketing Officer and Department Manager.
26. Guide any visitor to the core description area and make good presentation.
27. Any duties or responsibilities assigned by the management.
Education and Related Work Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Geology.
• 0-2 years of experience in the field of Geology.

 Licenses, Registrations or Certifications

• Membership in Geologists Societies in the Country, if any.
• Driving License.
