Job Title: Data Engineer 2 Location: Bangalore Reports to: EM Data Engineer Job Type: Full-Time Role Overview: As a Data Engineer 2, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers our core business processes. You will work closely with data analysts, and product teams to ensure that we have the right data, in the right format, and delivered at the right time to support real-time decision-making and improve customer experiences. Key Responsibilities: * Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to move data from various sources (databases, APIs, logs, etc.) into centralized data storage systems. * Data Modeling: Build and optimize data models for reporting, analysis, and machine learning applications to support product features and business intelligence. * Data Integration: Integrate and transform data from different systems (e.g., customer behavior, transactional data, social media) to create unified views for analysis. * Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work with data scientists, product managers, and other teams to identify data needs, implement solutions, and provide support for data-driven decision-making. * Performance Optimization: Optimize data processing and query performance to support real-time analytics and reduce latency for consumer-facing applications. Data Quality and Governance: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data in production systems; implement monitoring and alerting for data issues. * Database Management: Administer and optimize data storage solutions, including relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Redshift, BigQuery). * Automation: Automate repetitive tasks and improve data flow processes for increased efficiency and scalability. * Documentation and Best Practices: Write clear, maintainable code and document data pipelines, models, and processes to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams. Skills & Qualifications: * Experience: 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, working with large datasets in a consumer-focused environment is a must(e.g., B2C, D2C). * Programming Languages: Proficiency in SQL; experience with Python, Java, or Scala for data pipeline development. * Data Warehousing: Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and tools like Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake. * Database Technologies: Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). * Data Modeling & Schema Design: Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and schema design best practices. * Data Integration: Knowledge of integrating data from APIs, third-party services, and data lakes into business systems. * Version Control: Proficiency with Git or other version control systems for collaborative development. * Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in handling large-scale data sets and optimizing performance. * Cloud Services: Experience with cloud data engineering tools (AWS S3, Lambda, Glue, etc.). * BI Tools: Exposure to business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) to support data visualization needs.
