About the Role We are seeking a Data Engineer with 3–4 years of hands‐on experience to build and maintain data pipelines using managed cloud services (MSK, Glue, Kinesis, EMR, MWAA) while being comfortable with open‐source equivalents (Kafka, Spark, Airflow). You'll work on ingesting, transforming, and serving large‐volume datasets (40 M+ records) in a secure, scalable environment. Key Responsibilities Data Ingestion & Streaming: Leverage streaming services (MSK/Kinesis) or Kafka for real‐time ingestion. ETL/ELT & Orchestration: Use managed frameworks (Glue, EMR, MWAA) or open‐source tools (Spark, Airflow) for data workflows. Data Lake/Warehouse: Manage large‐scale data storage (e.g., S3) with proper partitioning; optimize data warehouses (e.g., Redshift). Security & Governance: Implement data encryption, IAM roles, and compliance measures (GDPR, PCI). Monitoring & Optimization: Track pipeline performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and optimize for cost and reliability. Collaboration: Work closely with analytics, DevOps, and product teams; document data flows and architecture. Required Qualifications 3–4 years in Data Engineering or a similar role. Hands‐on experience with streaming (MSK/Kinesis or Kafka) and ETL/ELT (Glue, EMR, Spark). Strong SQL skills and familiarity with data warehousing concepts (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.). Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java for data pipelines. Understanding of cloud security (IAM, encryption, secrets management). Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred/Bonus Skills Airflow or MWAA orchestration experience. Lake Formation or other data governance solutions. Serverless data processing (Lambda, Step Functions). BI tools (QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI). Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation). Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant field (or equivalent experience). What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits package.
