Founded by an ex-Nykaa Brand Manager, Raindus Beauty Care is building in the fast paced, high growth Indian Beauty & Personal Care Industry.
We're undertaking the mission of building high integrity & hyper-transparent specialist BPC brands for smart consumers.
The Opportunity
If you're excited at the thought of being employee number 1, building a rigorous, science-forward culture from the ground up, while also having strong exposure to the business and marketing side- we might be the right fit for you. Here's what your day to day could look like:
Core Responsibilities
· Designing & conducting consumer studies to understand consumer preferences, validate product efficacy and develop claims.
· Own the R&D budget for the brand- and work on optimizing product development costs to deliver strong Gross Margins. Negotiation on MOQs across vendors will be critical.
· Collaborate with labs, external formulators & contract manufacturers to create product formulations.
· Collaborate with packaging vendors to select cost appropriate and compatible packaging for formulations.
· Ownership of the Quality Control processes- COA verification, stability trials, third party testing, raw material analysis, transit trials & creating protocols for Manufacturing.
· Proactively track trends, ingredient breakthroughs and packaging innovation.
· Develop brand relationships with contract manufacturers, ingredient suppliers and fragrance houses.
· Own the Product Network and ensure OTIF delivery for each product.
Additional Opportunities
We believe in providing the chance for our team to grow beyond their technical capabilities- and you can expect to be part of several initiatives beyond core day-to-day R&D responsibilities, including:
· Assisting Marketing on driving quality Scientific education & communication for consumers.
· Participating in Consumer Research on brand, positioning & campaigns.
· Participate in Video Content on all things R&D in consumer-facing communication.

Compensation
INR 8-9L CTC
ESOP allocation
We are looking for:
1. Graduates in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy (Bachelors degree + at least 2-3 years of relevant work experience OR Masters/PhD level study in relevant discipline with industry projects)
2. Work experience in Cosmetic Formulation with an emphasis on Skin, Body & Fragrance categories.
3. Relevant work experience in D2C Beauty Brands or FMCG Organizations
4. Self starters who take initiative, and are ready to take on the responsibility of owning the end-to-end R&D process for a startup.
5. Keen interest in Beauty & Personal Care category- including a strong knowledge of current trends & how they apply to the Indian consumer
6. Strong relationships with contract manufacturers, third party labs, ingredient and packaging vendors.
7. High ownership mindset:
this role has direct P&L responsibility, and will be the highest source of cash burn for the company.
