JD-Network Security (Meraki Skills)

• Configure and Manage Cisco Meraki Firewalls: Set up, configure, and manage Cisco Meraki firewalls to ensure network security and optimal performance.
o Local Policy
o Global Policy
o VPN (IP Sec)

• Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and troubleshoot any issues related to firewall performance.

• Security Policy Implementation: Develop and implement security policies to protect the organization's network from threats.

• Firmware Updates and Patching: Regularly update and patch firewall firmware to maintain security and functionality.

• Networking Protocols: Proficiency in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, and BGP.

• Cloud Management: Managed through the Meraki Dashboard, providing a centralized, intuitive interface for configuration and monitoring.

• Layer 7 Application Firewall: Allows for detailed traffic control based on application type, improving security and performance.

• Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDS/IPS): Uses Cisco-developed SNORT to detect and prevent network intrusions.

• Content Filtering: Blocks access to inappropriate or harmful websites based on customizable policies.

• Advanced Malware Protection (AMP): Protects against malware with real-time threat intelligence and sandboxing capabilities.

• Geo-Based Firewall Rules: Enables or restricts traffic based on geographic location.

• Auto VPN: Simplifies the setup of secure site-to-site VPNs with automatic configuration.

• High Availability: Supports failover and redundancy to ensure continuous network operation.

• Role-Based Administration: Allows for granular control over who can access and modify firewall settings.

• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of firewall configurations, policies, and procedures.

• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members to ensure seamless network operations and security.
