Overall Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Scala and Apache Spark.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement efficient solutions.
Optimize and tune Spark jobs for performance and efficiency.
Troubleshoot and debug data processing issues in Spark applications.
Ensure the reliability, availability, and security of data pipelines.
Software Requirements:
Proficiency in Scala programming language.
Hands-on experience with Apache Spark framework.
Knowledge of distributed computing and big data processing.
Category-wise Technical Skills:
Programming Languages: Scala, Java
Big Data Technologies: Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive
Data Formats: Avro, Parquet, ORC
Data Serialization: Apache Avro, Apache Parquet
Data Storage: HDFS, AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage
Data Processing: Apache Kafka, Apache Flink
Database Technologies: NoSQL (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB), SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
ETL Tools: Apache NiFi, Apache Airflow
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in Scala development.
Hands-on experience with Apache Spark for big data processing and analytics.
Day-to-Day Activities:
Develop and maintain Scala-based Spark applications for data processing and analysis.
Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver efficient solutions.
Optimize and tune Spark jobs for performance and scalability.
Troubleshoot and debug data processing issues in Spark applications.
Ensure data pipeline reliability, availability, and security.
Qualifications & Soft Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
