Infrastructure Engineering Senior Manager (Network)

Position Overview:
As a member of Evernorths Global Network Services team you will help build and manage network and network security technologies that will connect our employees with its customers, put resources in the hands of the health professionals who need them and help Evernorth play its part in the future of healthcare. The work you will do directing and leading the offshore engineering and operations of technology solutions, delivering strategic business plans, and reducing cost will translate directly into improved operational costs for the organization. Supported by the resources you need to make informed and accurate business decisions, you will be empowered to maximize your performance and that of the organization.
The Senior Manager for Network Support will be responsible for engineering, operations activities, planning, implementation and monitoring of Evernorths enterprise network and network security platforms in order to maintain availability and security for company systems and assets. Other responsibilities include leading a team of engineers to respond to outages, issues or troubleshooting activities. The position will direct teams in maintaining Evernorths infrastructure and processes, and provide guidance over all availability and security aspects of data network implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and vision around network and network security monitoring, implementation, and processes with balance of scalability, stability, cost, robustness and flexibility.
  • Build and direct teams responsible for oversight, delivery and management of Evernorths network operations activities.
  • Work closely with the Evernorths Global NOC to implement standards around monitoring of network and network security devices and logging.
  • Conduct periodic vulnerability and security audits, and take necessary actions to resolve any security vulnerabilities.
  • Lead reporting and remediation efforts surrounding audit compliance
  • Present and communicate regular updates to the senior leadership team
  • Engage and collaborate with various IT teams and end users to resolve network and network security related connectivity issues
  • Reviews and approves change activities to ensure proper coordination, implementation and validation procedures are in-place. Ensures conformance to Technology Change Management / IT Service Management policies.
  • Ensure all staff is provided with training and resources needed to perform their jobs to the most outstanding degree possible. Ensure all staff is provided with frequent feedback and coaching in order to meet and exceed individual and team performance goals consistently.
  • Manage and encourages new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovations.
  • Empower the staff to be accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions.Sees beyond the current processes and identifies process improvements
  • Must be willing to make recommendations and challenge upwards when appropriate for he best interest of the department
  • Available 24x7 for operational issues that require management on call

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working with US-based teams.
  • Strong time and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with the following technologies Cisco networking (SDWAN, LAN, WLAN)

Required Experience & Education:

  • 13-16 years of Experience
  • Four-year university degree or college diploma in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in data network engineering and/or management, including extensive management and organization of high-performing teams
  • 5+ years of experience with network and network security platforms such as Zscaler, Palo Alto, and Cisco
  • Ability to lead navigate across large complex networks and understand who to contact for assistance
  • Experience leading a technical team through a comprehensive technology software upgrades over an accelerated delivery schedule
  • Skilled in examining and re-engineering workflows, operations, and procedures
  • Ability to drive results (focused execution, technical expertise)
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage the operations of network and network security in a fast paced corporate environment

Desired Experience:

  • Experience with F5 load balancers
  • Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco ASA firewalls
  • Experience with Zscaler, Palo Alto Prisma Access, and Cisco Secure Access
  • Experience with Python and other scripting tools
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations
