The Impact You Will Make in this Role:
The Labeling Technical Analyst serves a design, development, configuration, and technical support role for 3M on-demand label printing systems. You will be a member of the 3M IT Label Build team and involved with multiple aspects of software and product lifecycle management of labeling systems. These labeling systems include Loftware Spectrum and ELC (Enterprise Labeling Component), and BLUE. Your work may include assisting with requirements definition, analyzing technical design alternatives, creating technical designs, coding, creating documentation, server administration, release and cutover activities and collaborating with the QA team to verify quality of system changes and releases.

To ensure success as a Labeling Technical Analyst you should have experience in analytics, coding, technical design, problem-solving, systems and applications administration, maintenance and debugging. The successful candidate will work closely with business units, subject matter experts and technical resources to understand requirements, create technical designs, perform coding, create documentation, testing and assist to validate the quality of the code.

  • Developing and configuring label printing software enhancements and technical upgrades.
  • Advocating and enhancing the Agile software development lifecycle.
  • Determining operational feasibility of solution designs through analysis.
  • Developing requirements and design documentation.
  • Conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
  • Providing support in response to system production issues. Resolving issues and providing root cause analysis and prevention actions.
  • Supporting application releases from requirements gathering, design, build, test, and deployment while following validation processes and procedures.
  • Working with 3M business areas and IT colleagues to enhance applications,mitigate and respond to project and operational risks, and trouble-shoot issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (completed and verified prior to start).
  • 3 years experience as an applications developer - large and small projects - .Net or Java
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Understand all aspects of software development lifecycle.
  • Understand various SDLC methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following areas:
  • EAI / API integration using tools like Mulesoft and / or Oracle Fusion Middleware.
  • Cloud (AWS/Azure)
  • Basic programming or Java Script experience
  • REST/SOAP API
  • Server administration (preferably Windows)
  • SQL

Additional qualifications and experience that could help you succeed further in this role:

  • Experience with development, configuration, or support of on-demand label printing applications - especially Loftware or Codesoft- andhardware (printers).
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green belt (or other process improvement disciplines).
  • Effective communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Familiar with various IT and PM tools such as JIRA and MS Project.
  • Experience working in a validated application environment.
  • Experience in an Agile development environment utilizing Scrum meetings and Jira.
  • Familiarity with database administration and querying in Oracle and/or SQL Server.
  • Experience working with SAP.
  • Knowledge of: Authentication methods, Operating Systems, Databases, Networks, Webservers, Application servers, Tomcat, Containers and code management (OpenShift/GitHub).
