Job Description – Manager – Tax & Compliances for FMCG Company Job Specifications Job Title: Manager – Taxation & Compliances Department: Finance and Accounts Reports to: Finance Controller Location: Colaba, Mumbai Must come with prior working experience FMCG companies Qualification: Qualified CA / CFAExperience: 5-8 Years In Taxation & Compliance Profile CTC Budget – Up To 18 LPA (Only) Key Areas of Responsibilities Audit Coordination: Liaise with internal teams to ensure the timely completion of financials before audit.

Prepare and organize all audit schedules, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Act as the primary point of contact for auditors, addressing any queries and concerns related to financial statements.

Highlight key areas requiring the Head of Department's (HOD) intervention and escalate when necessary.

Ensure the timely completion of the audit process and the finalization of financials before the due date.

Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the monthly closure of books of accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Review and monitor the monthly Trial Balance and General Ledgers to ensure compliance andaccuracy.

Supervise inventory and receivable reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure consistency and correctness.

Ensure the timely review and supervision of all receivable reconciliations, including those fromaggregator and other channels.

Taxation Compliance & Planning: Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST, Income Tax, TDS, and other statutory tax returns as per regulatory timelines.

Stay updated on latest tax laws and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.

Develop and execute tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while remaining fullycompliant.

Income Tax Compliance: Prepare the Computation of Income and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.

Responsible for the timely filing of the Income Tax return.

Ensure correct TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) deductions from all payouts on a monthly basisand ensure proper booking of payment entries.

Prepare and share quarterly TDS data and challans for filing TDS returns.

GST Compliance (for all States): Prepare monthly working for GSTR 1 filing and coordinate with the consultant to ensure timely submission.

Ensure proper filing of GSTR 3 B within the due date and make GST payments before the due date.

Monitor and ensure the correct utilization of input credit and cash balances against the monthly GST liability.

Maintain GST-related entries in the books, ensuring they are state-wise and properly accounted for.

Regularly review and maintain GST output and input reconciliations between the books and GST portal.

Prepare and file annual GSTR 9 and 9 C reconciliations within the due date.

Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to corporate tax laws, SEBI regulations, and company lawprovisions relevant to the FMCG sector.

Maintain and update tax records, ensuring all compliance-related documentation is readily available.

Conduct internal tax reviews to mitigate any non-compliance risks.

Tax Audit & Assessments: Lead and manage statutory audits, tax audits, and assessments conducted by tax authorities.

Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and internal teams to prepare responses to queries from tax authorities.

Transfer Pricing & International Taxation: Ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations and prepare necessary documentation.

Manage cross-border taxation issues, including international tax planning for global transactions.

Litigation & Representation: Represent the company in tax-related disputes and liaise with government authorities, consultants, and legal teams.

Prepare and file responses to tax notices, appeals, and related proceedings.

Other Company Compliance Tasks: Provide required data for other company compliances to the legal department, such as XBRL filing, MSME details, FLA (Foreign Liabilities and Assets), and others.

Coordinate with the legal department to ensure the timely submission of statutory filings such as Form DPT-3 and the Annual Return for SFT (Statement of Financial Transactions).

Assist in coordinating with legal teams for necessary business resolutions (BRs) and any agreement-related matters.

Process Improvement & Advisory: Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes, improve compliance efficiency, and reduce tax risks.

Provide strategic tax advisory to senior management on financial planning, business expansion, and cost optimization.

Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with internal finance teams, auditors, legal advisors, and tax consultants to ensure seamless tax operations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tax compliance in business decisions.

Competencies Required: Strong knowledge of GST, Income Tax, TDS, Transfer Pricing, and Corporate Taxation.

Experience in tax litigation, audits, and handling tax authorities.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and tax-related software.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strict deadlines.
