Job Title: Sr.

Engineering Manager/Head of Engineering – e Commerce & Shopify Location: Remote Reports To: Creative Director Experience Required: 10+ years in software engineering, 4+ years in Shopify with 3+ years in a leadership role in service-based or e Commerce-focused companies.

About the Role: We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Head of Engineering to lead our engineering team in delivering world-class e Commerce solutions.

This role requires a seasoned leader with a strong background in service-based delivery models, hands-on experience in Shopify, Woo Commerce, and other e Commerce platforms, and a sharp focus on e Commerce strategy, scalability, and performance.

You will be responsible for shaping our engineering vision, mentoring the tech team, driving high-quality client delivery, and aligning tech execution with business growth and e Commerce trends.

Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy Define and implement the technical roadmap aligned with business objectives and e Commerce trends.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Marketing, Client Services) to drive strategic initiatives.

Lead engineering delivery for custom e Commerce projects, integrations, and platform migrations.

Ensure consistent adherence to high standards of quality, scalability, and performance.

Engineering Management Manage and mentor a team of frontend, backend, and full-stack developers.

Oversee sprint planning, code reviews, and Dev Ops pipelines.

Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Client & Project Oversight Work closely with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Provide technical consultation during the pitch meetings when required.

Ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of client projects.

Technical Excellence Maintain deep expertise in e Commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Woo Commerce, etc..), APIs, payment gateways, and performance optimization.

Stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends in e Commerce and recommend adoption where relevant.

Enforce best practices in security, architecture, and code quality.

Requirements: Proven experience leading engineering teams in a service-based agency or consultancy environment.

Strong background in building and scaling e Commerce platforms (Shopify, Woo Commerce, etc.).

Hands-on experience with modern tech stacks: Java Script frameworks (React, Vue), PHP, Node.js, REST APIs, and cloud infrastructure (AWS).

Experience managing remote teams.

Deep understanding of the e Commerce funnel, conversion optimization, and performance metrics.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to translate business strategy into actionable engineering plans.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with headless commerce architectures (e.g., using Shopify Hydrogen, Next.js, or similar).

Familiarity with ERP and CRM integrations.

Previous experience in a high-growth startup or scaling agency.

Technical certifications in cloud platforms or e Commerce platforms.
