Job Description

ABOUT THIS JOB

The MDG (Master Data Governance) team is responsible for master data maintenance at Nielsen IQ’s Shared Service Center (SSC). They are responsible for maintaining customers, vendors, GL accounts, Cost and profit centers, Materials, and Financials master data. They do creation, changes, extend, Block and unblock activities of master data. In addition, they perform analytical work for other stakeholders involving master data. The MDG Team Lead - Vendor Master Data Specialist will focus on leading the team in maintaining the Vendor Master Data. This master data contains information about the vendors that supply materials or service to our company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage a team to process creation/change/extend for new and existing vendorsAble to assign issues and requests out to teamEnsure team is complying with all controlsCreate diagrams, workflows, and documentation for team to validate documentation provided by vendorsDocument the teams processes, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and training materials using Word, Visio, and PowerpointDevelop KPI, metrics, and dashboard about team workload and provide them to senior management on a monthly basisCreate and Maintain an issue tracker and provide metrics to senior managementHelp troubleshoot general, bank, and tax master data issues faced by vendors in Ariba. Work with Ariba systems team to find permanent fixes to reduce the number of these issues.Collaborate with IT in developing LSMW and/or Winshuttle scripts for mass upload changes such as data migrations for M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions). Lead will need to provide the requirements to IT, test scripts, execute and validate them in productionLead the creation of reports for our stakeholders including documenting requirements, performing completeness and accuracy testing, coordinate the testing with our stakeholders, and providing post deployment support.Work cross functionally with other accounting, finance, and IT teams for projects. This individual must become the point of contact for corporate projects relating to vendor master data and be able to provide deliverables pertaining to vendor master dataAddress inquires and clarifications our stakeholders have regarding our processes and data in the vendor master dataAdditional ResponsibilitiesProcess other master data requests Creation/Change/Extend for new and existing customers for all of Nielsen IQs Companies in all regions during high volume.A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUA successful MDG team associate will achieve a balanced coordination and seamless execution of MDG activities and project related activities. S/he will have delivered on all process governance and controllership metrics. S/he will have met or exceeded expectations on all metrics and ensured solid controls are in place and functioning.

Qualifications

Must have’s -2 or 4 year degree in Accounting/Business Administration/Finance/ITExperience working in Procure to Pay workstream or Accounts Payable moduleDemonstrated attention to detail and accuracy while meeting strict deadline.Effectively manage time and prioritiesSelf-motivated and the ability to work effectively in a team environmentProven interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent analytical and excel skills (must know how to use V-lookups )Strong customer service orientation: need good listening and communication skills.Proven problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to take action in solving issuesExperience working in Finance and IT Projects to provide deliverablesAble to articulate issues in writing, troubleshoot, and resolve master data issuesAble to lead team initiatives like report creation and mass upload script creationAble to produce KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and metrics for teams work loadAbility to work with internal audit for internal control or audit inquiriesPreferredWorking knowledge of accounting concepts under

GAAP and preferably with IFRS/Local GAAP and SOX complianceExperience (2-4 years ) with ERP systems (SAP ECC and S/4 Hana is a preferred )Experience with MDG is preferred (vendor, customer, GL, cost center, profit center, material master)
