AWS Specialist

An exciting opportunity to join our team within a growing ICT Services company with a global portfolio, as an AWS/Azure Cloud Specialist.

Team Purpose

This is a Subject Matter Expert-level position in the Cloud organisation within Getronics. The business unit is responsible to maintain and provide excellent cloud operations services to customers. The cloud delivery organisation works closely with bid management, pre-sales, solution & service architects to support the execution of complex solutions.

Role Purpose

The Azure/AWS Cloud Specialist is a person responsible for owning end-to-end operations management, resolve high complex issues. In this role, SME will also be required to assist in migration of infrastructure from the Data Center or Private cloud to the Public cloud. This role will also be responsible to build automation and scripts using native services or other tools within the Public Cloud services.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Create AWS automation/runbooks, ARM, Terraform, CloudFormation

• Identify and automate repetitive tasks.

• Experience in containerization technologies – Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, etc.,

• Drive AWS best practices implementation, review gaps in the environment and drive performance fine-tuning initiatives.

• Experience in microservices-related architecture patterns like API gateway, load balancer, service mesh, etc

• Experience in CI/CD pipeline setup, quality gates using Sonarqube, and application security scanning

• Design virtual networks to support workloads with the highest security and performance.

• Configure policies, rules, autoscaling, OS hardening, etc..

• Configure, Deploy, Automate, and resolve complex issues on AWS DevOps.

• Perform configuration management and disaster recovery tasks on your new environment

• Provide input for the design and construction of test cases and scenarios and may also validate executed test results

• Automating the Deployment and Scale of the AWS IaaS Solution script, automate, and scale AWS deployments.

• Review and drive change management along with the Team.

• Identify Security vulnerabilities & work with the team to implement the security fixes

• Drive cost and security governance initiatives across projects.

• Drive Major incident management till resolution, own communication, and coordinate with Stakeholders

• Own and execute high-impact changes as well as Critical incidents.

• Guide team in managing day-to-day incidents, changes, and Service requests of AWS IaaS and PaaS services.

• Review and update of project-specific documentations.

• Prepare KMAP of the team and create upskill / training plan

• Must have strong communication skills and, ability to work with multiple stakeholders

• Must have strong analytical & troubleshooting skills

• Must be self-motivated, ability to work independently.

• Ability to support & technically mentor team members

Required Technical Skills and Experience

• More than 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and Cloud Operations.

• Minimum of 6+ years in AWS Cloud Operations

• Experience in setting up various AWS services such as EC2, VPC, S3, VPN, Load Balancers, auto scaling, availability set, Backup & Recovery, etc.

• Good experience on handling AWS PaaS such as SQL, Lambda functions, Application Firewall, etc.

• Experience in creating AWS automation/runbooks, ARM, Terraform, CloudFormation

• Experience in implementing AWS best practices, reviewing gaps in the environment and driving performance fine-tuning initiatives.

• Experience in designing virtual networks to support workloads with the highest security and performance.

• Experience in configuring policies, rules, autoscaling, OS hardening, etc..

• Configure, Deploy, Automate, and resolve complex issues on AWS DevOps.

• Experience in Identifying Security vulnerabilities & working with the team to implement the security fixes

• Experience in performing configuration management and disaster recovery tasks

• Experience in setting up VPC, Subnets, CDN, Endpoints, etc.

• Experience in setting up native AWS Cloudwatch Monitoring.

• Experience in setting up DNS records.

• Hands-on experience in PowerShell scripting.

• Hands-on experience in AWS/runbooks, ARM, Terraform, CloudFormation

• Experience in Rightsizing, Cost optimization, and auto scaling

• Experience in managing any one of the technologies: Windows, Linux, Virtualization, SQL, Oracle, Network, Firewall, etc.

• Good knowledge of the configuration of other Monitoring tools – Datadog, Dynatrace, etc.

• Good understanding of ITSM process.

• Coordinate with 3rd party partners/vendors for resolving the issues.

• Experience in generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to Operations.

• Experience in driving cost and security governance initiatives across projects.

• Good communication and presentation skills.

• Terraform & ARM template creation experience.

Certifications

• Vendor certifications in Virtualization, Systems, Storage, and Networking

• AWS Administrator – Mandatory

• AWS Architect Technologies – Preferred

Educational Qualification: • Bachelor's Degree from a reputed institute
