Position: Senior PHP Developer

Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior PHP Developer to join our team at Samarth eGov in New Delhi. This full-time, on-site role involves leading the design, development, and maintenance of complex web applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend systems, web technologies, and modern PHP frameworks, and will be instrumental in driving technical projects, ensuring code quality, and mentoring junior developers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership in Development: Architect, develop, and maintain sophisticated PHP-based web applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
  • Framework Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of modern PHP frameworks (such as Laravel, Symfony, etc.) to build and maintain robust, scalable solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with front-end developers, designers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of features and functionalities.
  • Code Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Perform code reviews and enforce best practices to maintain high standards in software development.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, offering technical direction and fostering their professional growth.
  • Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex issues in existing applications and systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to keep our technology stack cutting-edge.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in PHP development.
  • Leadership: Proven track record in leading development teams and managing technical projects.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex technical challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in PHP: Extensive experience with PHP, including advanced features of the language.
  • Experience with Modern PHP Frameworks: In-depth knowledge of frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or Zend. The ability to choose the right framework for a project based on its requirements.
  • Database Management: Strong experience with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). Ability to design complex database schemas, write optimized queries, and use ORM tools.
  • Front-End Integration: Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with front-end frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Angular, to ensure seamless integration between front-end and back-end systems.
  • API Development: Expertise in designing and developing RESTful and SOAP APIs, including authentication, versioning, and API documentation.
  • Version Control: Proficiency in using Git for version control, including branching, merging, and managing pull requests in a collaborative environment.
  • Software Architecture: Strong understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and architectural patterns like MVC, MVVM, or microservices.
  • Testing and Debugging: Experience with automated testing (e.g., PHPUnit), TDD/BDD, and familiarity with debugging tools and techniques.
  • Security Best Practices: Deep knowledge of web application security, including protection against SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, and other common vulnerabilities.
  • Performance Optimization: Proven experience in optimizing application performance, including code refactoring, query optimization, and caching strategies.
  • DevOps Awareness: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is often desirable
