We are now looking for a visionary Design Head to lead our design team and shape the creative vision of the company as we expand our presence.
Role Overview:
The Design Head is a pivotal role that encompasses leadership, strategy, and creativity. The ideal candidate will oversee all design projects, ensure alignment with Furbishy Interiors’ vision, and drive innovation across our portfolio. This is an overarching, fluid role requiring a bird’s-eye view across the company’s operations to deliver world-class designs and exceptional client experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Leadership:
Oversee the creation of technical interior architectural drawings for high-end residential projects, ensuring precision and scrutinizing intricate details.
Stay at the forefront of global design trends, seek for design exposure through events, incorporating them into Furbishy's design ethos and strategy.
Ensure design output reflects authenticity while maintaining functionality and luxury.
Team Management:
Lead and inspire a design team of approximately 10-15 members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members, encouraging growth and upskilling to groom individuals.
Project Delivery:
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Creating an organised work ethic for team to perform in high pressure environments
Coordinate seamlessly with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Manage vendor relationships and allocate contractors appropriately to align with project requirements.
Escalating early on to figure out alternative solutions to tackle on site crisis or hiccups
Operational Excellence:
Streamline design processes, ensuring efficiency and consistency across all projects.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize project timelines without compromising quality.
Client Engagement:
Act as the key design liaison for clients, ensuring their vision is brought to life through tailored solutions.
Address and resolve any client concerns or feedback during the design process and smooth transition into execution
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in interior architectural drawings with a strong portfolio of luxury residential designs.
Deep understanding of global design trends, sound material knowledge, and ecosystems.
Proven experience in managing design teams and delivering projects from concept to completion.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance creativity with timely delivery.
Expertise in vendor management and contractor allocation for premium projects.
Leadership and Culture Fit:
Exceptional design sensibilities with an ability to mentor and motivate juniors.
A charismatic personality that fosters trust and collaboration within the team as well as with the leadership.
