Job Summary:

Our client is looking for a Senior DevOps engineer who is responsible for facilitating this by combining technical expertise with project management and communication skills.


Responsibilities:

  • At the direction of lead architects, develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy AWS applications, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for Azure, GCP, and AWS solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance
  • Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity


Required skills:


  • Extensive knowledge in AWS, uses AWS across multiple organizations, Terraform at least 3yrs
  • CI and CD combined - Production is isolated, handling production deployments, 3 other stacks, fast paced development and deployment. Strict SLAs for production, monitoring.
  • Azure DevOps is most of the CI part, Templates are in Azure DevOps heavily nested and has complex logic that someone should try to read YAML files and understand what it does.
  • CD security measures, multiple levels of security Native Security Scanning tools Trivy, VeriCode, Sonarcube.
  • Monitoring tools needed- Splunk and Splunk APM, ramping up usage of this


Skills:

  • Windows and Linux Sys Admin experience (3+ years)
  • Strong AWS experience (eg, EC2, RDS, IAM, EKS/Kubernetes, CloudWatch, Cloud Formation/Terraform)
  • Chef/automation experience
  • Strong AWS experience (EC2, RDS, IAM, Cloud Formation)
  • Scripting experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Ruby and Bash are musts (also desired experience in some of these additional areas: NodeJS, Perl, Php, Powershell, etc.)
  • Experience with source control revision tools - GIT (preferred), SVN, RCS, CVS, etc.
  • PKI, SSL Certificate management (and certificate chaining) * OpenSSL, IIS
  • Web hosting experience using Nginx, IIS, Apache, Tomcat
  • Knowledge of PSExec
  • Strong Troubleshooting & Communication skills
  • Agile experience
  • Experience working in a pairing environment
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and strong collaboration within teams
  • Strong coding methodologies & best practices
  • BS degree in any of the following (CS/Math/Engineering)
  • Experience with 24x7 web applications, including on-call support
  • Experience with deployment automation tools * Chef, Jenkins, Puppet, Ansible, etc.
  • Database experience (tuning, troubleshooting, etc.) - MS-SQL, MySql/Percona, etc.
  • Working knowledge of continuous integration tools - Jenkins, etc.
  • Build/Test/Release cycle experience
  • Other tools experience: (Zabbix, Splunk, New Relic, Vagrant, Nagios)
  • Azure DevOps experience
